October 15, 2011 "Occupy" San Diego Update:
Move along, there is nothing to see here...... one tent "allowed to remain by police as an emblem of the idea of occupation" . GREAT IDEA (not)! Some symbol that is, an empty tent where RESISTANCE USED TO BE. http://theholyherb.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1469...
New Berlin shunts Occupiers out of the way of citizens daily lives. NORML is AWOL, and the rest of the county quietly waits for the feds to shut down their medical herb suppliers. Some dispensary owners wishfully believe they are safe, 'cause nobody shut them down yet or jailed 'them'.http://www.theholyherb.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=...

In typical lazy San Diego fashion, a decision has been made to wait another day, 'cause you know, its cold outside...
This is from the website for locals wanting to participate in OCCUPY AMERICA:
Hey, everybody. Just wanted to make sure everybody had access to the final plan. In respect of the events taking place for the Jewish High Holy Day Yom Kippur, we will not be occupying the San Diego Civic Center on the first night of our occupation, but we will still be occupying our fine city. The schedule of events will be:
October 7th, 2:00 – Meet at Children’s Park, Front Street and Island Avenue
October 7th, 4:00 – March to San Diego Civic Center to gain support and pick up occupiers from the originally planned location; march returns to Children’s Park
October 8th, 4:00 – March to relocate to San Diego Civic Center to continue occupation
Congratulations, everyone! Our hard work has finally come to fruition – the Occupation is here..... It ended up pretty cool, about 1500 marched and made some noise. Then some camped out in the park, the vanguard of the Occupy San Diego movement, as it were. Power to the People. We will see you at the barricades, herb lovers. Stay safe out there!
*Editors note, thats nice, occupiers, but where is the fire in the belly? Methinks you plan too much and are timid.
Occupy Wall Street: The new Populists? http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-ketcham-occupiers-2...
They call themselves the 99 Percenters. "We are occupying Wall Street," they say, encamped by the hundreds in a park dubbed Liberty Square in Lower Manhattan 's financial district, and now seconded by satellite groups at L.A.'s City Hall, in San Francisco and in Chicago, Boston, St. Louis and dozen...
" perhaps the closest historical parallel is with the Populist movement of the 1890s, which, like Occupy Wall Street, was a broad, economics-driven revolt that targeted a predatory class of corporate capitalists — the robber barons of the Gilded Age." OUR Robber Class is no better, lets put them out in the cold too.

East County residents join protest movement
By Miriam Raftery
October 3, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) – Inspired by protests organized through social networking sites that led to toppling of Egypt’s government, thousands of protesters have been staging an occupation in New York City since September 17. They seek an end to Wall Street “greed and corruption” according to Www.OccupyWallStreet.org.
